Dead & Company primarily performs Grateful Dead covers and is credited with popularizing Grateful Dead music to a younger audience. The band is known for its long, improvisational live sets, which are often described as being “jam band”-style. Dead & Company has been praised for its ability to capture the spirit of the Grateful Dead, and its concerts have been described as being “like being transported back in time.”

The band has released two studio albums, "Dave's Picks Volume 2" (2016) and "Live/Dead" (2019). Dead & Company has also released a number of live albums, including "Live from Madison Square Garden" (2015) and "Live from the Hollywood Bowl" (2017).

The Venue: Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field, with its iconic status as a historic baseball stadium in Chicago, also boasts a rich history of hosting jam bands and music concerts that adds a unique dimension to its cultural significance. Originally constructed in 1914, Wrigley Field is best known as the home of the Chicago Cubs, but its evolution into a concert venue has been a noteworthy development.

The transition of Wrigley Field into a music venue, particularly for jam bands, can be traced back to the early 2000s. This shift was part of a broader trend where historic sports stadiums started doubling as venues for large-scale concerts. The unique ambiance of Wrigley Field, coupled with its open-air setting and urban backdrop, makes it an attractive venue for both performers and concert-goers.

Jam bands, known for their improvisational music style, eclectic sound, and dedicated fan followings, found a natural fit in Wrigley Field. The expansive seating capacity and the stadium's open design allow for a concert experience that feels both intimate and grand. Moreover, the historical significance of Wrigley Field adds a layer of nostalgia and uniqueness to these musical events.
